Grace Brethren (11-2) at Antelope Valley (11-2), CIF-SS Division 8 final
A high stakes rematch with two teams that have grown up since Week Zero when Grace Brethren won 7-0. Grace Brethren running back Lontrelle Diggs (1,513 yards this season) has scored nine touchdowns in the playoffs and freshman Seven McGee had a breakout semifinal performance with 363 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 49 carries. Antelope Valley is led by one of nation’s top recruits in Devon Wililams, who can do it all as a wide receiver (1,130 yards, 12 TDs), defensive back (four INTs) and return man. Sophomore running back Jermaine Marshall (1,566 yards, 25 TD’s) has been a breakout star and versatile junior Jamaal Bell (1,327 all purpose yards, 13 total TDs) has experience winning a CIF-SS and state title with Paraclete last year.
Prediction: Beating the same team twice is hard but McGee gives Grace Brethren a 1-2 rushing punch it didn’t have the first time. But revenge will be served cold as Antelope Valley will win its first title since 1994.
